a message of gratitude for time
Warm weather and vitality the season of summer evokes.
And every year, at this period, we are finally handed back our time.
A Message of Gratitude for Time:
Thank you for Time.
Nothing but a blip to you, but to me -
These pockets of waiting will always be embraced.
In the in-between moments.
The hums and finger taps.
The heat of the toasty morning Sun beaming past the glass window, and quickly to my skin.
The long stroll from the house to the convenience store at the end of the road.
The final week of August, a slow stroll by, followed by the crisp autumn whispers.
In the piercing silence, where the loudest questions are asked.
Most importantly, Who will you become in the winter?
When the Summer hues, once saturated,
Now drained to grounding hues of brown,
We watch nature become subdued and stripped.
As do most.
What’s most beautiful is
We can choose to carry the warmth
From the lessons of these *scaringly hot summer days.
We can Preserve our new insights and changed mindsets.
We must Protect the Renewal that was produced
In the rain
In the storm
And in the sprouted sapling.
Some withered without care,
Others uprooted with intention and cast aside.
And those sacred unavoidably revealed.
What I prompt myself is
To hold onto the self-reflection.
Ready your favorite pastimes, and days of “doing nothing.”
Carry the leisure time with you through the harvest cycle and stark winter.
Prepare the coming of Spring and new becoming’s.
This ongoing transformation. Sentimental, yet trying.
It’s in these moments.
In these pockets I ever-so cherish.
I ask you, God, my questions.
In the the clouds,
Staring at the rays of Light beaming through the canopy,
Or as the moon begins to look for us, greeting us with an aroma of pastel gradiences.
It’s all there
We’ve both seen it.
I dare you to keep it.
